Goodbye little Bumper

I'm afraid I have some sad news to report for those of you who are regulars. Our dear little Bumper passed away last Wednesday after fighting a breathing disorder and associated weight loss for some months. He and his rather large friend Jubilee have been living at Caroline's house so she could give him special attention and care routine including nebulising and so that he could live indoors. In the circumstances he coped well and had a happy time at Caroline's and with her care he enjoyed some extra time that he might not have with another carer. He was a jolly chap who knew what he wanted and went for it - he and Jubilee basically bonded themselves. Caroline is feeling the loss of his departure and those of the rest of us who met this very sweet 'odd couple' will miss him too. Binky free little cutie.

In the Home

What does a bun think of,
As he watches the world?
Does he dream of green fields,
Or a burrow full of girls?

Is it carrots and parsley,
Are they served at his feet?
Or out growing in sunlight,
But ready to eat?

What does a bun think of,
When he sits all alone,
In the comfort and safety,
Of his man-made home?

"Hmmm...I wonder what I can con my human slaves into doing for me today?"

The Cleaning Review

"Stop right there, old man! I want every single one of those poos right back where I left them, right now, or else!"

One Direction

"Look, all I am saying is that if my face fits through it in one direction, a carrot would probably fit through in the other, but there's only one way to test my hypothesis and for that I need your assistance."

Highs and Lows

How high the moon,
How bright the sun,
How big Jubilee's ears,
How small Bumper bun!

Jubilant Joining

Something we often find ourselves explaining to people is that for a couple to be happy they don't necessarily need to be of similar size, age or breed.

As if wanting to demonstrate this, a few days back little Bumper decided to bust out of his cage (thanks to a faulty door) and bond himself with giant Jubilee. Having turned down at least three other bucks (including Whisky), Jubilee seemed to want to demonstrate that even apparently un-bondable buns can fall in love when they meet the right one.

"Ah, waiter, two jumbo breakfast specials, please. And my wife will have the same."

Bumper Boredom

"Eeeaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwah"

"No, no, do continue telling me about your problems, I'm all ears."

"But if you could just wake me when you've finished talking that would be grand, thanks."
