Dastardly Dean

The other day I was feeding the bunnies dinner and when it came to Dean's turn he didn't rush out in the normal fashion when I placed his pellets on the kennel floor.

So I opened the other door and there he is motionless in his dog bed, I call his name, nothing...

I gave him a gentle nudge, no response, heart in mouth I go to pick him up expecting him to be deathly ill and he explodes into action.

It turns out Dean is a very heavy sleeper either that or Anouska has been giving him lessons on how to scare your human.

Life is a rollercoaster

The last two weeks have been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for all of those involved in the rescue.

As well as having to make the sad decision to have Sprat euthanised, we also found one of the three wildie siblings, Pea collapsed and struggling to breathe and lost Christina following a tragic accident.

 

 

Our hearts break each and every time we have to say good bye to one of our little fury friends even know we are making the decision upon veterinary advice in the best interests of each rabbit it doesn't hurt any less.

 

We also sadly had to say goodbye to cheeky sponsor bunny, Moll as her respiratory illness worsened and her quality of life was severely compromised.

 

 

Zion, Laurel, Citroen all found new partners and forever homes along with Sea Pearl and Ruby Red who have gone to be house rabbits and Latte and Piccolo who have finally found a spacious forever home in the country after being returned to us earlier this year.
