Boadicea

Lower the flags to half mast, dig out the black banners and a moment of silence please. Boadicea, our Queen of the Rescue, has fallen.

I sadly regret to inform you all that yesterday afternoon Boadicea went to the vets for tests on her newly developed heart condition and very suddenly and unexpectedly had a heart attack during the procedure. We are stunned by her loss.

There is very little that I can say about Boadicea that supporters of the Rescue and this blog will not know- Mrs Tubby-Fatbottom was well known for being a mischief-maker alongside her soulmate, Archimedes. He waited ages for his perfect woman and chose her, his other half. They were often found snuggling in their barn or in the vicinity of the snack barrow (if not in it).

Both rabbits, so large and demanding, insisted on roaming their whole kingdom during the day and were a familiar sight around the Rescue, stealing veg or providing immovable obstacles. The place shall not be the same again without her.

  4. What a shock! We are so sorry to hear about Boadicea - she was a larger than life character(in more ways than one) and our thoughts are with you at the rescue. We are sure she will be missed so much :( I think she may have been one of the most posted about Bunnies at the rescue due to her free roaming status. We will miss reading about her escapades - love to Archimedes. From Jennifer and Lance
