Velcro Floof

I have now had several people ask me for bunny photo tips, so I've put it on the list to blog about in the future. When/if I ever post about my "method", I will no doubt waffle on about how I mostly shoot without looking at/through the camera, largely because with the camera at bunny height I'd otherwise have to lie on the floor by which time bunny will have hopped off to do something else. Don't worry, it will all make sense when I explain it properly.

Well anyway, this is all great, but if you are looking down on bunny and the camera is directly in front of bunny, the camera will spot things that weren't apparent from above. Pictures you *thought* were going to be perfect...

"If this is going to be our last little photo session before I go back, don't you think maybe you should BRUSH ME FIRST??!!"

  1. There are at least four photo-fails in that picture.
    - Subject unprepared (the messy floof with all the bits in)
    - Background cluttered
    - Failed to take into account objects in the background - long piece of wood behind him gives him the appearance of a big wooden unicorn horn coming out of his head!
    - Placing subject on background of a similar colour.

    Anyone spot any more?

  2. B-H V, it is slightly less of a wonder that you are so spectacular at this now that you have given us a glimpse behind the scenes with your helpful clientele. I had no idea that your photographs could be the result of anything but a photographer on the ground. I am such a dope. I hope the boys had a safe and fun journey to the Rescue yesterday - you know, a good time was had by all and lots of happy reunions kind of thing. Of course, I also hope Whiskey is gathering himself together, too. Even the heartiest of adult bunns must occasionally get discouraged by today's bunny youth. However, it is too bad that he missed his last chance to show them a little tough love and to christen them as they headed out. Thank you for sharing and caring.

    1. Sometimes I can indeed be found at the Rescue with my face against the ground peering into the viewfinder of my camera trying to get that perfect picture! But more often than not, before I've had a chance to take it, I'll be distracted by some little munchkin chomping or head-butting me trying to tell me to give them snacks or get out of their space!

  4. I don't know anything about your soccer teams, but perhaps Brown Cloud already has the makings of a soccer hooligan, and his favorite team's arch rival's colours are blue and white? I really don't think there is a single problem with this photo, but I have been told that maestros often seek a perfection that we paisanos can't even appreciate when we see it.
